“Why are you giving me advice?” Sara asked quietly. “Why do you care what happens to me?”
She still looked agitated and a little upset, although she didn’t cry. She regarded him thoughtfully – even suspiciously. Sara wasn’t a suspicious person by nature, but even for her, it was hard not to be wary in such a strange new place and he’d defied her expectations. She didn’t know what to make of him now. She had thought he was just the kind of thug who got a kick out of scaring people he thought were weaker than himself, but there was clearly more to him than that, or he wouldn’t have bothered trying to dole out advice – even in the rough way he was doing it.
She didn’t know what to make of think of his facial scar coming from an explosion either, although she wanted to; but he wasn’t volunteering much on that front. Clearly, he didn’t want to talk much about it.
