CITY OF ARIEL: THE TEST DRIVE THE OVERFLOW, PART DEUX! Since the last post is again fast approaching 3k comments and getting laggy for some of our players, we have decided to go ahead and stick up the overflow post, even though there's just a little over a week to game start. We started the meme early to give you plenty of room to do just that. ◆◆◆◆ With the City of Ariel grand opening only a month away, we are holding our first ever test drive meme. Tag in and see how your character would settle in the game. You're a fresh face in the city, newly processed, and arriving at a bustling time. The city is expanding and you are greeted first in the re-education center by your helpful counselors and then directed out of the building to a large festival. Be puzzled, make friends, have sex, or whatever you want! There are no restrictions on thread types played out here. Your first awareness that something has gone wrong comes during a groggy moment of semi-lucidity when you look around yourself and find that -- instead of wherever you remember being last -- you're in a chair, in a room with a man you don't recognize. He's sitting behind a desk whistling to himself and sorting paperwork. The whole atmosphere might remind you of a high school guidance counselor's office, only with far more comfortable chairs. When your head clears enough to speak and you ask him where you are, he smiles brightly and says, "Welcome to the City of Ariel." You were brought to Ariel during a very special time! There's a large festival going on celebrating the new expansions to the city and everything is decked out for it. Everything is bustling and vibrant in the city today because of the celebrations. There are decorations up, food vendors set up all along the streets, kissing booths, games, and just about anything else you can imagine an event like this would have! The people of Ariel are out and about as well, some are in vibrant costumes and others are just checking out the sights. Some of the more exhibitionist types are even having a little more fun out in public than you may be used to seeing back home. As soon as the grogginess from your arrival passes, you are allowed to leave the re-education center and see it all for yourself. Upon exiting, you are even handed beads of various colors, several of each so you don't worry about running out. Each color has a special meaning listed below: pink - toys blue - oral yellow - watersports green - age play lavender - crossdressing orange - multiples grey - bondage white - hands (mutual masturbation, fingering, handjob) red - blood black - wildcard These are to aid you in making a connection with others. Show your interest in others and tell them exactly what you would like to do with them by sharing the beads. If you would rather take a different approach, feel free to walk around the festival and see what (or who) catches your eye. The point is to relax and get settled in your new home.

He noticed the edge to the other man's voice and he arched a brow and was just about to head off the other way when he spoke up again. Hadn't thought ht was wanting much conversation, but...

"I'm not that drunk yet. I don't plan on passing out." He tilted his head, eyes drifting down to the beads for a moment before they went back to his face. "Doesn't look like you're planning on practicing moderation either."

"Moderation is for people who don't have the balls to go for what they want," he said, matter of factly. "And I'm not one to make myself suffer needlessly. Which is why there needs to be more alcohol in my glass," he directed the end of the sentence to the server behind the booth, tapping his glass again.

"And you're plenty drunk, Bunyan."

This is acceptable!

"So what do you want here?" Not sure why he was sticking around with this guy, but Sam hadn't decided to head off yet. He took a step closer, glass still in hand and largely untouched.

"I am not. I'm still standing, so I'm fine. Trust me."

"Here? Alcohol. Over there, I might want something else." Of course, the burn of the alcohol was only dimming the need for blood, not quenching it entirely. God, what he wouldn't give to just sink fangs into someone and drink...

"Your standing out of some strange force of will. Your brain hasn't gotten the message that you're shitfaced yet."

""Yeah? So what are you, new here or a local?" He seemed pretty damn comfortable really, so he wasn't too sure. He huffed and took a drink from his glass.

"Well, we'll see about that, I guess."

"What, the fact that I'm wearing clothes didn't give away my new penny status?" He tipped his drink back, glaring at the man behind the booth to just leave the damn bottle.

"If you fall, I'm getting the hell out of the way. You have the hair for a fainting damsel, but no offense, you don't have near enough boob."

Nuh-uh!

"Hey, I've seen some of the locals still in clothes... not for long, but." And he'd seen some new faces here eagerly discarding those. It was pretty hard to tell.

He tipped back the rest of his drink and rolled his eyes. Man, this guy was a dick. "Seriously? Hair comments?"

Nuh HUH!

"Hey, if you're going to run around looking like Goldilocks, you've gotta expect some comments on it." He poured another drink, letting this one almost linger.

Of course, if he had his way, he'd be losing his clothes and partaking of a few darker pleasures tonight.

"Man, that's one attitude you've got on you." He finished off his own drink and motioned for another.

"Is this usually how you start conversations or what?"

He looked over at the guy, shrugging slightly before refilling his glass. "Sometimes. Sometimes I'm more of a dick. Depends on how tight my underwear are."

That actually gets a brief chuckle out of him and Sam shakes his head. "Good to know, I guess. I'll keep it in mind."

So shut your yap and enjoy a life of servitude.

"You should. Wouldn't want me to actually be a dick around here. I could walk into a walking pussy. Chaos would ensue. It'd be madness."

"Oh, that's a nice mental image there. Uh, real nice." He brought his drink up to his lips, glimpsing over. "So what are you going to do here anyway?"

"No, no, no. The question is what aren't I going to do here. I'm going to drink, fuck, and be merry, just like they want. Because there is nothing about that scenario that isn't appealing."

"How about the kidnapping and the chip? I mean, this place has some perks, but..." It wasn't all rainbows and sunshine either.

"Enh, I'm not peaches and cream about that, but hey, there's a reward plan, right? And I can sure as hell hump my way up to the top where the chip doesn't even matter."

Not that he was that concerned about it. Not like it could kill him or anything.

"I guess that's one way to look at it." Sam didn't really have any interest in 'humping his way to the top' though, not really.

"What's your name?"

He gave Sam a wide grin, masked for a moment by his drink. "Damon. Damon Salvatore. And you're Paul Bunyan, right? No, wait, Stompy the Elephant..."

"Sam," he answered back, a frown tugging at his lips and his eyebrows pinching together. "And you know, I've heard all the tall jokes in the book."

"Really? Well, that's just prompting me to come up with some more original ones. Gimme some time, I'll wrangle something up," he grinned, nonplussed in the slightest at the frown on the tall and very not lanky man's face.

"Telling you, I don't think there's anything I haven't heard yet." He finished off his drink and put his glass down.

Probably should stop there.

"I'm sure I can dig up some oldies but goodies, longshanks." He grinned, refilling his own glass and smirking as Sam 'gave in' for the night - or so it seemed.

"Man..." Sam shook his head and let out a sigh. "Well, this has been a real pleasant meeting, but think I'm done for the night."
