[Gaia watched as he got more comfortable. She was more comfortable in here. It felt casual and being that it was empty had a strange anti-social atmosphere that was something that was more her style than being outside amidst all that everyone else seemed to be doing. Glancing over her shoulder, she looked at the opening of the tent like she was expecting some frisky couple to stumble in and interrupt them for no apparent reason.

Again with the smile, which actually this actually made her smile in return. Well, wasn't that... cute. Despite the smile, she shrugged, trying to seem nonchalant.] Sure. Why not? So far you seem like the only sane person here. [She was glad, as an afterthought, he hadn't been offended by her insertion that he needed someone to take care of him at all. But the label as 'friends' used, her smile faltered for a moment, looking uneasy. Her last group of friends had all been hurt due to their connection with her. Ed had been hurt numerous times in various ways. Mary had been killed. Sam had been shot and kidnapped. Jake had been shot and killed. Even Heather had been rendered temporarily blind. Where was the benefits of being her friend when she still had the Curse of Gaia hanging over her head to bestow upon anymore who was near her. She decided to ignore the word and address the rest of what he said. There was a lot of reasons for her to be ashamed of her ability to fight. She'd been taught the skills by her father as a way to defend herself in stupid, dangerous situations that her lack of fear threw her in. It wasn't something she herself had went out and tried to gain.] Well, it's not like I asked to be able to fight. My father taught me so I could defend myself since my brain wasn't going to allow me to do it for myself.

[When he took off his jacket, she averted her eyes. It wasn't that it was a big deal. In fact, if the noises from outside couldn't still be here with the strange feelings that the sights and noises had stirred within her gone away without the visual simulations in her face now, she probably wouldn't have thought much of it at all. There was a few times only she could recall these sort of things in her mind. Once was with Sam before she knew he was Sam and Heather's current boyfriend. And Ed. But she'd experienced a lot with Ed that she hadn't with anyone else. With his easy nature, boyish charm, and ability to not care about what crazy things were going on in her life at the time. Once he had removed the jacket, she turned back to him.] Yeah, it is a little hot. [She didn't have any outer layer to take off innocently like he did. She was just wearing her normal jeans and t-shirt. To take anything off to try to cool down she'd be left in her bra and panties.] Uh, sure. Yeah. I'm great over here. [She forced a strained smile, but at least the attempt was sincere.

She scoffed.] What the hell does he know? Are you... solving cases? Finding answers or whatever the fuck detectives do? If so, then I think you're doing just fine myself. I don't see a reason for you to subjugate what you want to do for whatever someone else wants you to do whether it's your father or this Lenny. If I did what other people wanted me to, I'd be dead or in jail or joining the CIA or something like my father wants. [She paused briefly, reaching up and brushing some hair behind her ear. When she dropped her head, it actually landed on Johnny's leg for a moment accidentally before she moved it away again with only a briefly hesitation.] Families are fucking complicated anyway.
