[Gaia nodded. She wondered if a word like 'privacy' existed in this city.] Who needs privacy anyway? It's just an overrated novelty?

[She made a face. She'd thought that exact same thing.] Well if they start that shit, we will kick some ass. No one should fucking get away with that. Now if someone wants to do it as their own choice, then well, I guess more power to them but... sexual assault is a different fucking story. [She had tried to bait and kick the ass of enough lowlifes in the park to know that as big as they sometimes talked, the harder they fell and the more their shortcomings actually were.] Oh, no one is going to take me down anywhere and in any way. Stronger, sicker, and more violent people have tried and failed.

[The fact he raised his hand for a high five amused her greatly. Who high-fived anymore? But she actually found herself laughing and raising her hand, high-fiving him like he offered, rather than scoffing at the gesture.] I don't think anyone's called me their partner before. You have no idea what you're getting yourself into.

[The way he read her mood of not being forthcoming with information actually surprised her. There was a bit of a boyish attitude and charm about him, but he clearly still had the ability to be intuitive, which she really didn't, and kind. He seemed to want to be understanding rather than pushing her to explain what she normally didn't.] Yeah, when we get home. I think we have enough to deal with right now-- [She gestured toward the door of the tent.] --then to try to rehash ancient family history now. Don't you?

[She nodded, a bit surprised he was keeping up with her rambling on the topics. It was almost exactly why she was going to university. She'd need a degree to be in the CIA, but she still had no plans to go there.

The things that the people in this city might be giving out in the guise of medication might just be horrible. Or maybe it was what had gotten into everyone to begin with. Now that he mentioned it, the idea of drinking or eating anything from here wasn't the best either. What if everyone was drugged or laced with something? She nodded.] Yeah, I wouldn't take anything either. Who knows what fucking drugs they put in things around here? [She eyed him carefully when he said he had to take care of something. What did he have to take care of? Her hand shot out to lay on his arm. This time she didn't pull it back. She let it lay there and actually moved forward, shifting off the floor and actually moving over to sit on her knees. Now she was just... so close. She had no idea other than the urges she had been trying to fight since she practically got here why she was doing much of anything. But something just told her she wanted to, that she should. That she should do something. But what?] What do you have to take care of? Can I help? [The questions surprised her. They were so soft which was unlike her normally brazen and loud nature.]
