eternalscorpion: (Murderous)

"From experience, but not the sort you presumably had with him," Sasori said, and there was a subtle sharpness there. Effective though they might have been as a team, Sasori never would have allowed that degenerate to sully his greatest masterpiece. "As his partner when he was within our ranks, it was only natural that I became aware of his habits."

And there was no reason now not to let that information slip, now that he was sure he was dealing with someone who'd held a Sound affiliation. It meant two things: one, that this boy could hold useful information about Orochimaru for him, and two, that there was the possibility Sasori wasn't dealing with the lowest form of shinobi trash. After all, every other village he knew of that recruited rogue ninja would just as happily take any common bandit who'd happened to get their hands on a stolen headband as they would a true, fully trained shinobi.

It didn't matter that anything useful Sasori might learn would not be of much use here and might not be of any use at all to a dead man. Information was information, and Sasori was alive now, so there was no reason to go about abandoning his old habits. It was just as possible for Orochimaru to show up here as it was for anyone else, and Sasori had always been one to plan ahead as much as he could.
