CITY OF ARIEL: THE TEST DRIVE THE OVERFLOW, PART DEUX! Since the last post is again fast approaching 3k comments and getting laggy for some of our players, we have decided to go ahead and stick up the overflow post, even though there's just a little over a week to game start. Please continue your threads or start new ones here if you'd like. We started the meme early to give you plenty of room to do just that. ◆◆◆◆ With the City of Ariel grand opening only a month away, we are holding our first ever test drive meme. Tag in and see how your character would settle in the game. You're a fresh face in the city, newly processed, and arriving at a bustling time. The city is expanding and you are greeted first in the re-education center by your helpful counselors and then directed out of the building to a large festival. Be puzzled, make friends, have sex, or whatever you want! There are no restrictions on thread types played out here. Your first awareness that something has gone wrong comes during a groggy moment of semi-lucidity when you look around yourself and find that -- instead of wherever you remember being last -- you're in a chair, in a room with a man you don't recognize. He's sitting behind a desk whistling to himself and sorting paperwork. The whole atmosphere might remind you of a high school guidance counselor's office, only with far more comfortable chairs. When your head clears enough to speak and you ask him where you are, he smiles brightly and says, "Welcome to the City of Ariel." You were brought to Ariel during a very special time! There's a large festival going on celebrating the new expansions to the city and everything is decked out for it. Everything is bustling and vibrant in the city today because of the celebrations. There are decorations up, food vendors set up all along the streets, kissing booths, games, and just about anything else you can imagine an event like this would have! The people of Ariel are out and about as well, some are in vibrant costumes and others are just checking out the sights. Some of the more exhibitionist types are even having a little more fun out in public than you may be used to seeing back home. As soon as the grogginess from your arrival passes, you are allowed to leave the re-education center and see it all for yourself. Upon exiting, you are even handed beads of various colors, several of each so you don't worry about running out. Each color has a special meaning listed below: pink - toys blue - oral yellow - watersports green - age play lavender - crossdressing orange - multiples grey - bondage white - hands (mutual masturbation, fingering, handjob) red - blood black - wildcard These are to aid you in making a connection with others. Show your interest in others and tell them exactly what you would like to do with them by sharing the beads. If you would rather take a different approach, feel free to walk around the festival and see what (or who) catches your eye. The point is to relax and get settled in your new home.

Having politely declined all of the beads upon hearing their descriptions, some he'd known he had no interest at all in keeping Ion had politely excused himself and walked away. He just was not sure what to make of all this, suddenly finding himself separated from everything he knew...and after...that...had happened. Hopefully everyone was okay, but he wouldn't know for awhile it seemed.

One good to come of this was he didn't feel as he usually did, having a bit more energy even though he'd been walking a while. At least it meant he was fine to look around and learn what he could.

Odd could not have been having the opposite reaction to this place. He was excited to be here. It might have been the chip in his head was having an easier time in helping to send those subliminal messages into the blond's head but he was walking around with a smile on his face. Then again, who wouldn't have been happy about having had sex with a stranger in one of the booths.

He spotted Ion as he was walking toward one of the food stalls. He ordered two ice cream cones and waited for the green haired boy to come closer. He stepped out in front of him with a bright smile and held out one of the sweet icy treats.

"Here. You look like you could use a pick-me up."

Ion paused when the other boy stepped in front of him holding two ice creams, slowly smiling at his words. "Thank you," he said, taking one and tasting it. It was nice to see someone about his age here, though he didn't know much of what hanging out with other boys meant.

"Who are you?"

"The name's Odd. Odd Della Robbia. What's your name?" Odd smiled as he asked. He started to lick his ice cream while waiting for the green haired kid to introduce himself.

"My name is Ion, it's nice to meet you Odd." Taking another lick, he hummed softly. "Are you new also?" he asked, curious.

"Yep. Just got here today. Strange place huh? You enjoying it?" Time to test the waters with this guy. He needed to see if he was more open or not before making any moves.

"Enjoying?" Ion, considered his answer. It had occurred to him that not everyone would dislike it. "I don't have an opinion of it yet," he said finally.

"What do you think of it?"

Odd nodded at the answer. Well that was better than saying he completely hated everything. The blond took another bite of his ice cream and gave Ion a bright smile.

"I like it. A city all about feeling good? What more could you ask for?"

"There isn't much." He'd ask to know if his friends were okay, but not much else. "So do you know anything about sex?" He was curious, because they were so close in age it seemed.

Rin really wasn't having a good time after all. It had started out fine, and even after meeting Night and running in to his brother he was still quietly, naively hoping that maybe things wouldn't be so bad.

That was before he ran in to that damn incubus. The incident left Rin feeling ill and disoriented, and even after he had sat under a tree for an hour and just let himself calm down he was still rather out of it.

Which was why he barely noticed when he had bumped in to some one much smaller than him, and had even gone a few steps further before he blinked and turned around.

"... sorry," he mumbled, making a face when he realized just how young this person was.

Shit, this city had no limits, did it?

Having stumbled slightly, lost in his own thoughts, Ion hadn't said anything. It wasn't in his nature, and Rin looked as though something was on his mind. Watching the young man walk on, he was surprised when he turned back to him.

But when apologized to, he gave a slight shake of his head and moved the few steps to stand before him. "It's fine. You seem to have worries of your own," he said.

"Che. That's the understatement of the year..." Rin grumbled, his tail lashing behind him. Hands shoved in his pockets, it was difficult to see that he clenched them in to fists as he spoke.

After a pause, though, he let out a sigh and shook his head.

"Don't worry yourself over it. You're just a kid. You're gonna have bigger problems to deal with in this place..."

A tail? That was rather new. Ion shifted his gaze back to Rin's face.

That was probably the first time anyone had said he was just a kid, and he wasn't sure what to think of it. He shouldn't have been surprised though. The response reminded him a tiny bit of Luke actually.

"I doubt any problems I might have here are any worse than any other person." He smiled a little. "My name is Ion."

Well of course Rin didn't know Ion from any other face in the crowd, and to him he looked as tiny as Konekomaru and possibly even younger.

Not that Rin was an "adult". He was a few months shy of sixteen as it was.

But he was speaking mostly out of irritation - irritation at the situation and irritation that the city would throw even the most innocent looking in to their twisted idea of "peace by pleasure".

He scowled a little more, but the expression eased after a second and he sighed.

"Rin. Rin Okumura."

It was true that naive and innocent were Ion, him knowing nothing of sex outside of the images he received from his chip. But we was nearing age 15 himself.

"It's nice to meet you, Rin." Strange circumstances aside, he was being honest as he offered a hand to shake.

"If it would help, maybe you can let your frustration go by talking?"

"... you're better off not hearin' about it. Trust me on that."

And Rin didn't particularly care to recount his run in with the incubus.

He did take the hand offered to him, though, giving it a firm shake.

Giving a nod, Ion let the matter drop because it wasn't his place to pry. He returned the shake before releasing Rin's hand, then looked around them.

"What do you make of this place?"

There were so many people in the city. He wondered what the actual population number was as he walked around and tried to gain as much information as he could. Kanon should have watched where he was going a bit better. His eyes were too fixed upon the notepad he was jotting stuff down in and a second later he bumped right into Ion. With his concentration broken, his eyes widened.

"Oh! I apologize!"

Having stopped a moment ago to wonder if anyone he knew was here, he wasn't expecting the collision. It wasn't hard though so he was fine and took a step away so he could see who it was.

"It's okay, There's no harm done," he said reassurringly.

"Are you sure?" He asked, embarrassed by his mistake. He's usually more careful. A lot more careful.

Ion nodded, his eyes dropping to the paper Kanon was holding for just a moment. That must have been why. He smiled. "I'm sure."

He noticed what Ion was looking at and held up the notepad.

"Ah, I've been trying to record as much information about this city as possible. This place is so... I don't even know what word I could use to sum everything up."

"Different is the only thing that comes to mind, though I don't know if that does it either." It seemed a good idea to keep track of what was learned that way though.

"You're taking a practical approach to this."

Different... Kanon was thinking more a long the lines of oddly perverse than anything else, but that was just his opinion.

"Ah, well I'm taking notes for two reasons. One being for myself and the other because I have to. I figured my superior, Prince Schneizel would appreciate the information. I'm his personal assistant, so I took the responsibility of doing this."

Perverse hadn't yet made it into his vocabulary, or he might have agreed.

"Personal assistant to a prince?" That caught the Fon Master's attention and he tilted his head. He didn't know this prince, but it was hardly surprising here "To have a position like that you must be a reliable person. Is this prince here also?"
