CITY OF ARIEL: THE TEST DRIVE THE OVERFLOW, PART DEUX! Since the last post is again fast approaching 3k comments and getting laggy for some of our players, we have decided to go ahead and stick up the overflow post, even though there's just a little over a week to game start. Please continue your threads or start new ones here if you'd like. We started the meme early to give you plenty of room to do just that. ◆◆◆◆ With the City of Ariel grand opening only a month away, we are holding our first ever test drive meme. Tag in and see how your character would settle in the game. You're a fresh face in the city, newly processed, and arriving at a bustling time. The city is expanding and you are greeted first in the re-education center by your helpful counselors and then directed out of the building to a large festival. Be puzzled, make friends, have sex, or whatever you want! There are no restrictions on thread types played out here. Your first awareness that something has gone wrong comes during a groggy moment of semi-lucidity when you look around yourself and find that -- instead of wherever you remember being last -- you're in a chair, in a room with a man you don't recognize. He's sitting behind a desk whistling to himself and sorting paperwork. The whole atmosphere might remind you of a high school guidance counselor's office, only with far more comfortable chairs. When your head clears enough to speak and you ask him where you are, he smiles brightly and says, "Welcome to the City of Ariel." You were brought to Ariel during a very special time! There's a large festival going on celebrating the new expansions to the city and everything is decked out for it. Everything is bustling and vibrant in the city today because of the celebrations. There are decorations up, food vendors set up all along the streets, kissing booths, games, and just about anything else you can imagine an event like this would have! The people of Ariel are out and about as well, some are in vibrant costumes and others are just checking out the sights. Some of the more exhibitionist types are even having a little more fun out in public than you may be used to seeing back home. As soon as the grogginess from your arrival passes, you are allowed to leave the re-education center and see it all for yourself. Upon exiting, you are even handed beads of various colors, several of each so you don't worry about running out. Each color has a special meaning listed below: pink - toys blue - oral yellow - watersports green - age play lavender - crossdressing orange - multiples grey - bondage white - hands (mutual masturbation, fingering, handjob) red - blood black - wildcard These are to aid you in making a connection with others. Show your interest in others and tell them exactly what you would like to do with them by sharing the beads. If you would rather take a different approach, feel free to walk around the festival and see what (or who) catches your eye. The point is to relax and get settled in your new home.

[Lan Fan stopped dead in her tracks, eyes wide behind her mask, her breath caught in her chest. She hadn't thought that Ling had been taken too, the way they had spoken it seemed as though it had only been her.]

Young Master-- [It wasn't so much a shout as an exclamation, and she crossed the distance between them with a mixture of relief and shame--because in all honesty there was a part of her that felt she should have been able to prevent this--or at least have been aware of it before it happened. But no. Whatever this was she had been completely blind-sided.]

[She took in his appearance quickly, visually searching for anything that might be amiss, but he seemed fine--and indeed, she was fine. More than fine. The one thing it seemed she could thank these people for was that the damage done to her port on the promised day appeared to be fixed*, but this wasn't about her. She took a knee at his side, bowing properly.]

Young Master, are you unharmed?

[She held back the urge to apologize for her absence, at least for now.]

[ If there was someone Ling could be certain would be able to follow him, no matter where, that was Lan Fan. It stood to reason, after all-- as his most trusted servant and bodyguard, her place would always be by his side.

Granted, this took far less than he thought it would, but nevertheless he never had any doubt Lan Fan would show up. So as she bowed to him, he simply smiled at her and crossed his arms at his chest, casually looking at the surroundings right after ]

I'm fine. This isn't the first time I wandered off on my own, is it? Don't worry about it.

But it looks like we've ended up in a rather interesting place, after all.

[ And for just a fraction of a second, the realization that it was Lan Fan he ended up with in a place like this hit him all at once. Rather, it was the realization of the possibility he could play this game with her that did, and even the thought alone was entirely too tempting.

This wasn't the first time he'd thought of her in these terms (then again, it was never just lust, really), of course, and just like every other time he simply pushed that thought to the back of his mind. No matter how enticing the thought was, there were far too many lines that couldn't be crossed here. ]

Saw anything worth mentioning so far? A way out, maybe?

[Lan Fan breathed a slow, silent sigh of relief in the almost nonchalant way that he greeted her. She swallowed thickly before carefully rising to her full height, her hands tightening further into fists--and feeling the beads that still happened to be there pressing further into her palm. She felt the heat find her face as the simple motion brought the demands of this place to the forefront of her mind, the theme of this... festival... along with thoughts that no dutiful retainer--let alone honorable woman--should ever have about their liege.]

[She was more than thankful for her mask in that moment. Even if she couldn't control her blood flow, she could hold her expression stoic even while she pushed those thoughts aside.]

Nothing, my prince.

Mmm... We could ask people if they know anything about it, but I doubt it'd go anywhere. So how about it? Let's just relax some until things calm down...? We might even find something to eat.

[ Honestly, there were pressing matters on his mind that should have taken the utmost priority right now— and of course, they were still did. But the idea of taking advantage of this situation-- taking a small break after everything they went through-- well, it was tempting right now.

And maybe, thinking about it ... this could really be his last chance.

Finally turning his attention to her and facing her, his tone of voice dropped some, and there was seriousness in it. ]

...Or we could just have fun together.

[ He didn't specify anything with that-- purposely leaving it vague. Ling wasn't entirely sure if implying anything at all was a good move, really, but the more he thought about it and the more holding those thoughts back was becoming difficult. So why not...? He could thread carefully and see where things would go. ]

[She nodded curtly at first--the fact that they had found each other was the most important thing at that point. They weren't likely to gather much in the way of useful information while so much commotion was happening. And truth be told... her mind was straying too far from its center to be fully successful in any reconnaissance or espionage.]

That seems the most pertinent course.

[She rolled the beads in her hand again, thinking it would be best to pocket them the next time he was not looking, just to get the thoughts out of her mind. It wouldn't work perfectly, but at least if they weren't pressing into the palm of her hand...]

[And then his attention had turned back to her, and her mind came to a screeching halt with his words. She blinked rapidly, verbally stumbling for a moment in a very unprofessional manner before questioning...]

My prince...?

[It was her own mind playing a trick on her now. She had these thoughts running through her head and she had just warped his words and his tone, that was all. He couldn't possibly be referring to anything to do with this city or what was happening around them... right? It wasn't uncommon for him to announce something like 'let's have fun'... but it would be in that sing-song voice. And 'together'...]

[She could feel her blush reaching from her hairline all the way down her neck, her ears felt like they were on fire. What the hell was she thinking? She cleared her throat, straightening further while trying to push the whole matter to the side and step properly in line no matter how... difficult it was at the moment.]
