It's that time finally! Here's our How's My Driving? post. This sitewide meme will go up on the 20th of every month and it's encouraged that everyone post! Please post a list of your current in-game characters as a reference for other members to use for comments or critique.

Remember to keep it civil. Outright flaming will not be tolerated and we will deal with any hostile comments as soon as possible. Critique should be constructive. Offer ways a player can improve their characters, solve any problems you might have, etc. rather than just telling them they're horrible with no examples or pointers.

Likewise, this isn't a love meme. It's great to tell someone you think they're doing a good job or you love playing with them! Just give reasons for why you think they're awesome or what they're doing well. We're not discouraging positive comments. Love is great, but so is hearing why you are so you know what to keep doing.

Anon comments are enabled and IP logging is off for those who'd prefer a little anonymity, but please don't abuse this feature to be rude to other players.

This is a very minor suggestion but would you consider editing out the dialogue from your icons?

I'll see what I can do! Admittedly I'm pretty terrible at making icons, and it's very difficult to find icons for her, so unfortunately they're not the best right now. This is a good suggestion though, and I thank you for bringing this up. I'll definitely do what I can.

Ah! Just as a suggestion with some icons I've messed with before, if you have a program to edit them you can just eyedropper tool the color around the text and then color over the text to hide it. If you don't have a program like that there's always GIMP which is free and makes it really simple to do that thing (same method).

Not a problem at all! GIMP's a heck of a lot easier to use to make icons, too, in my experience.

Don't change your icons to appease an idiot. I edit icons all the time myself, but this is effing stupid to ask someone to do on an HMD meme. Did that help you play your character better? No. But because anon is enabled you had to deal with a moron.

That looks 1000% better, thank you! I'm a big fan of Claymore and looking forward to reading more of your writing, but the slight distraction on the accompanying images was distracting. It's so rare to see someone RPing a Claymore character, especially Tabitha! I hope you stick around.

It's no problem at all! Glad to hear it looks better! I can see how it'd be distracting, and I'll certainly keep this in mind for future icons. And yes! I'm pretty excited to be playing Tabitha here, and I hope I'll do a good job with her, anon!

I really admire the graceful way you handled this, but please don't change your icons if you like them the way they are. That anon's "crit" was out of line and not pertinent to your characterization at all.

Thanks for your thoughts on this matter. I appreciate it! The issue that anon brought up has helped me consider how my character is presented to the rest of the game. It was a good opportunity for me to review this, and think about what I like and dislike about my icons. Even if it wasn't about my characterisation itself, I'm always looking to improve every aspect of my rping. I won't change my icons beyond the text editing, which I now know how to do. She's an obscure character, so I've got very little to work with, unfortunately.
