![]() THE OVERFLOW Since the last post is fast approaching 3k comments and getting laggy for some of our players, we have decided to go ahead and stick up the overflow post. Please continue your threads or start new ones here if you'd like. To make this easier on those continuing threads from the last meme, here's a handy form: Please remember to let your thread partners know you've bumped your threads over here as well! We started the meme early to give you plenty of room to do just that. With the City of Ariel grand opening only a month away, we are holding our first ever test drive meme. Tag in and see how your character would settle in the game. You're a fresh face in the city, newly processed, and arriving at a bustling time. The city is expanding and you are greeted first in the re-education center by your helpful counselors and then directed out of the building to a large festival. Be puzzled, make friends, have sex, or whatever you want! There are no restrictions on thread types played out here. Your first awareness that something has gone wrong comes during a groggy moment of semi-lucidity when you look around yourself and find that -- instead of wherever you remember being last -- you're in a chair, in a room with a man you don't recognize. He's sitting behind a desk whistling to himself and sorting paperwork. The whole atmosphere might remind you of a high school guidance counselor's office, only with far more comfortable chairs. You were brought to Ariel during a very special time! There's a large festival going on celebrating the new expansions to the city and everything is decked out for it. Everything is bustling and vibrant in the city today because of the celebrations. There are decorations up, food vendors set up all along the streets, kissing booths, games, and just about anything else you can imagine an event like this would have! The people of Ariel are out and about as well, some are in vibrant costumes and others are just checking out the sights. Some of the more exhibitionist types are even having a little more fun out in public than you may be used to seeing back home. As soon as the grogginess from your arrival passes, you are allowed to leave the re-education center and see it all for yourself. Upon exiting, you are even handed beads of various colors, several of each so you don't worry about running out. Each color has a special meaning listed below: pink - toys These are to aid you in making a connection with others. Show your interest in others and tell them exactly what you would like to do with them by sharing the beads. If you would rather take a different approach, feel free to walk around the festival and see what (or who) catches your eye. The point is to relax and get settled in your new home. | |

Hearing Mello's accusation only pissed him off further, like he'd had this predatory mindset to pull him into an alley and use him. It's got him very pissed off. His eyes are still narrowed even as he reaches down to right his pants and grab his own shirt. He's only half way into it, the fabric lifted up somewhere up his rib cage by the time he's already going for shrugging his vest on over top of it.]
I did have something to say. I'm doing everything I knew to get us alone so we could talk and not lead back to each other.
[It's under his breath and half between his teeth, hitting his shoulder against Mello's as he walks by.]
AND. Stop fucking blaming me for shit that's not my god damn fault.
[There's not a huge red door ready to send them home, Matt's in need of some serious time away. Mello can shove that up his ass instead while Matt wanders into the crowd, trying to fix his outfit.]

You had your chance to say something.
[Mello isn't yelling, but he can barely manage to get the words out, thick as they are with rage. Matt had plenty of chances, when they were taking clothes off of each other and putting lip against lip, hand against leather. They were alone, and close. He could have whispered something at any time while they were against each other — and did not.
Mello may have been content to let Matt walk away. They both need to calm down, to recollect, to take into consideration the fact that there are chips in their heads that are likely making them act in ways they wouldn't otherwise. Mello does, contrary to what people may think of him, have the sense to recognize that what they need right now is space, or they are going to end up getting into a serious fight, but then Matt does two things to set him off on edge.
He shoves into him, and drops two words that he knows — knows so well, it makes Mello sick — that Mello does not like hearing. At all.
And so there is no break, no chance to settle down and then meet back up to act like nothing happened and it was just another one of the arguments that result from high stress and long hours of work that often revolves around kidnapping and killing, anything it'll take to catch Kira. Instead, Mello stalks right after Matt, grabs his shoulder to jerk him around, and then aims a punch right toward his face.]

He's almost back breaking into the crowd, sighing because he'll have his time to calm down, go mingle and--
And he's suddenly jerked backward, around and finds himself with Mello's fist connecting to his face. He knows why, he knows and doesn't care because he's not going to be anyone's bitch. Matt's fingers, gloved or not, go to his mouth and he's tasting copper, looking at it on his gloves.
He's trying hard, very hard, not to grab Mello by the hair and shove the bastard face first into bricks, open up the other side and let the cocksucker rot from the inside out. His breathing is obviously quickened in a way that isn't like when he was up against that wall. He's mad, irate and the taste of his own blood is doing it.
From his gloves to Mello's face, Matt looks up at him and then spits to the side. His eyes fix him with a glare by the time he's back facing entirely toward Mello.]
That. Is. The last time you ever touch me. Fuck you.
[Matt, at this time, is shaking hard enough to be visible, fists balled and slowly it's wearing down on him where he's not so sure he's not just going to go with that plan and leave the fucker bleeding in the alley.]
Fuck you, for everything! You're a spoiled fucking brat and if I wasn't a bigger man than you, I'd put you in your fucking place right this fucking second.
no subject
Maybe.
He wants Matt to hit him. At this point, Mello feels as though what is going on between them won't pass without a true fight, but Matt keeps control of himself. It's disappointing, and it bothers Mello because he seems like the one who's in the wrong, who's out of control, who is fucking up, but it's not him. This whole situation is Matt's fault.
But Mello can't walk off. Can't let it go, can't move away when Matt is calling him a spoiled brat, a lower man — as though Mello has had everything handed to him over the years. As though he hasn't had to climb tooth and nail from the very bottom to get only close to the top. Not even to the top. Not yet.]
Spoiled! I have fought for everything I have ever had. Everything.
[Matt has a better idea than anyone, what Mello had to go through post-Wammy's, fifteen years old and alone, with no one and nothing to help him. But even Matt has no idea how hard it was before Mello managed to get on his feet.
And what did he have? At this point, nothing. Just Matt, and a loosely constructed plan to try and get Kira. That's all.
The thought sobers him a little. He's far from calm, but he's no longer itching to rub Matt's face into the ground. Now, Mello just wants him gone.]
This was a mistake.
[All of it — trusting Matt to drag him out here, trying to get information from him. Matt is supposed to be the most loyal person Matt has, and now Mello can't stand being near him.]
I don't want to touch you. Or see you.
[His voice is calmer now, and Mello is getting more control over himself.
He turns, now, and starts walking away, fixing his shirt as he does so.]
no subject
That's right, Mello, just run off like you always do instead of fucking standing on your own two feet to have a conversation.
[Because of the distance he does have to be a bit louder, caring less about who hears.]
'Cause it's definitely ALL my fucking fault we've been kidnapped and tossed into this situation.
[Matt's response to violence is violence and yet for the moment he can't bring himself to hit Mello. But the things around him find themselves more or less kicked, broken and God help anyone right then.]
no subject
It may not be Matt's fault that they are stuck as they are, but it is his fault that he just gave into this city, lost sight of the goal and pulled Mello down under with him.
Mello doesn't turn around, but he tells Matt that he can shove it as he continues to walk away. He isn't sure if Matt hears, but it doesn't really matter. All that matters now is that Mello does some independent research on how to get out — since Matt isn't interested in being helpful.
It isn't as though he needs him.]
