With the City of Ariel grand opening only a month away, we are holding our first ever test drive meme. Tag in and see how your character would settle in the game. You're a fresh face in the city, newly processed, and arriving at a bustling time. The city is expanding and you are greeted first in the re-education center by your helpful counselors and then directed out of the building to a large festival.

Be puzzled, make friends, have sex, or whatever you want! There are no restrictions on thread types played out here.

Your first awareness that something has gone wrong comes during a groggy moment of semi-lucidity when you look around yourself and find that -- instead of wherever you remember being last -- you're in a chair, in a room with a man you don't recognize. He's sitting behind a desk whistling to himself and sorting paperwork. The whole atmosphere might remind you of a high school guidance counselor's office, only with far more comfortable chairs.

When your head clears enough to speak and you ask him where you are, he smiles brightly and says, "Welcome to the City of Ariel."

You were brought to Ariel during a very special time! There's a large festival going on celebrating the new expansions to the city and everything is decked out for it. Everything is bustling and vibrant in the city today because of the celebrations. There are decorations up, food vendors set up all along the streets, kissing booths, games, and just about anything else you can imagine an event like this would have!

The people of Ariel are out and about as well, some are in vibrant costumes and others are just checking out the sights. Some of the more exhibitionist types are even having a little more fun out in public than you may be used to seeing back home.

As soon as the grogginess from your arrival passes, you are allowed to leave the re-education center and see it all for yourself. Upon exiting, you are even handed beads of various colors, several of each so you don't worry about running out.

Each color has a special meaning listed below:

pink - toys
blue - oral
yellow - watersports
green - age play
lavender - crossdressing
orange - multiples
grey - bondage
white - hands (mutual masturbation, fingering, handjob)
red - blood
black - wildcard

These are to aid you in making a connection with others. Show your interest in others and tell them exactly what you would like to do with them by sharing the beads.

If you would rather take a different approach, feel free to walk around the festival and see what (or who) catches your eye. The point is to relax and get settled in your new home.

Okay, she'd admit it. She stared. Chips in brains and things like that were one thing, but this guy looked... well, he looked like one of the stony dudes outside some of the buildings she'd frequented. Gargoyles, right? Yeah, she thought that was it.

Before she even noticed she was doing it, she was following him, curiosity getting the better of her.

It didn't take that long for the small gargoyle to realize he was being followed and, while he really didn't want to, he stopped and looked over his shoulder, raising a brow at the woman. She only looked curious, not dangerous or anything.

"Uh, can I help you with something?" he asked finally.

She couldn't stop the grin that spread over her face, and she bit her lip as she came another step closer. "I don't know... can you?"

Okay, he talked. It talked? No, she definitely picked up a male vibe from him. "I'm Sky." This was entirely too cool. She had to wonder where their keepers were taking people from, especially if they were picking up guys like this.

"You're the one following me, so I don't know."

Turning to fully face her, he flicked his tail against the ground and shrugged. Giving his name couldn't hurt in this strange place right? It was only a name and she'd given hers.

"My name's Lexington."

"Lexington, huh? Mind if I call you Lex?" He had a tail. And pointed ears. And he was green. She went to reach for her cellphone to take a picture, hand stalling when she remembered she didn't have it anymore. Dammit.

"So, uh, whereabouts do you come from, Lex?"

His eyes followed the movement before moving back to her face. If she'd had her phone, he'd have wanted to see it. Even with stone-crushing talons, he had a knack for machines.

"No, almost everyone does. And I'm from Scotland originally."

Considering that tech was her 'thing', they might have a bit to talk about. His country of origin had her giving him a look. "Scotland? Really? I'm pretty sure I don't remember them mentioning anything about... okay, I gotta ask. You look like those building gargoyles..."

Which was her way of asking what he was, because coming out and saying 'what are you' was rude no matter the situation.

"That's because there aren't any gargoyle clans there anymore and haven't been for a thousand years." Lexington answered two questions at once with that one.

They probably did have plenty to share. Technology was the first thing he'd really taken an interest in on arriving in New York.

"So you're like, thousands of years old?" She came a little closer, trying to see the way his wings worked. Were those wings? They were something similar, reminding her of bats or flying squirrels.

"That's a bit complicated and a long story...and what exactly are you doing?" he asked, dropping onto all fours again. They were indeed his wings and attached to his arms, thighs, and the limb-like structures attached to his torso, but pierced to allow for his belt.

She stopped, hands up, palms out. "Sorry, I just... Dude. You are way too cool, and I'm just trying to get a closer look. Sorry."

The last thing she wanted was to have him leave while she was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that he was real. And talking.

"It's alright I guess. I just want to be careful."

Relaxing a little now, he settled with his legs crossed and propped a hand on his chin. "You're just different and different in humans has been a big reason to be careful. It's nothing personal." He just didn't want anymore scenarios like Xanatos or the Pack.

"Well, I get that." She was used to being wary of new people herself, but, come on, it wasn't like gargoyles were trying to enlist her for hacking or tech supply. Besides, considering where they were? She didn't think she had much to worry about in that regards anymore.

"Are there... um, others? Like you? Around here, I mean."

"I don't know, I just got here so I was looking around."

Something poking out of her satchel caught his attention and he dropped his gaze to see before a spark of interest appeared in his expression. "You have a laptop?"

That he knew what it was kind of threw her, but it also piqued her own interest. Pulling open the flap of her satchel, she nodded, sliding the laptop in question out. "Yeah, it's my baby. Made it myself, but, unfortunately it seems have been somewhat neutered by our hosts."

A fact she was intently sour about.

It was a machine and machines were his life. Motorcycles, helicopters, computers, video games...if it was technology he was interested. And even more that someone else liked to make them.

"You made it? Do you...mind if I take a look?" Somehow he wasn't surprised it had been tampered with for this place though.

She beamed, shaking her head. "No, not at all. Um, you wanna go find a table or something to sit at?" The fact that he was a) a gargoyle and b) interested in tech made him the singularly most cool thing she'd seen today.

"How much do you know about computers?"

"Sure. Do you know a place?" The inclusion of this one thing had pretty much push any misgivings aside. "I know a bit. I've studied a lot of technology in the last year."

"Um, there's some tables set up near where the food booths are. I'm sure we could grab one, if you don't mind actually getting there." She slipped the laptop back in her back, nodding in the general direction - which was through a press of people.

"Only the last year? Jeez, Lex. We have to crash course you."

"Worst case would be that they scream and run." Rubbing the back of his head, he shrugged. But at the mention of a crash course he smiled. "There was no technology in in the year 995. So I'm already in a crash course."

She chuckled at him, then began to lead the way to where she remembered seeing the food booths. "You're really from back that far, huh? That's both cool and oddly terrifying. I don't think I'd last long wearing frocks or riding horses."

"I don't think anyone outside of that time period would. Things are so different now that it's like an entirely different world."

Surprisingly, at least to him, nobody ran away screaming about monsters. It was weird, but not unpleasant.

She found a table and got comfy on one of the benches, pulling her laptop out and placing it down for him to look at. "Well, you're from that time period. How are you with this one? I mean, wasn't it easier transitioning through all that time?"

"Actually, I spent that thousand years in an enchanted sleep and woke up in this time period. So transition is still happening."

Hopping onto the back of the bench, he leaned in close enough to easily see the computer.

"... That actually happens? You're like, Sleeping Beauty with wings." SHe laughed, trying to stifle it so he didn't think she was trying to be mean.

She opened it up, turning it on and showing him the basic OS that the place would allow her. "I can't pick up any of their frequencies, and they've practically stripped her down to the bare necessities, but I'm just glad she works. They totally killed my accessories, and I'm bummed about that."

Leaning back, she scowled slightly, finger twirling her ring on her finger.
